Is there a good railway atlas of Germany available? I am thinking depth of detail to the similar level as the Baker UK atlases.

Ideally I would like one that shows all routes including all on their national network, U-bahns, S-bahns, light transits (such as the Dusseldorf airport SkyTrain) and preserved lines (do they exist in Germany?).

Hope somebody out there can help me with this. I have done some travelling in Germany and hope to have a 10-14 day rail holiday later in 2015.

Thanks in advance everybody.

Ticks all your boxes, and nice cartography too. There's a 2014 edition, as per the Germans language page, make sure you get that! A reasonable discount on *m*z*n, or ring Platform 5.

I bought the Eisenbahn-Taschenatlas in Munich a couple of years ago. This covers Germany, Austria and Switzerland and then cost €14.95 : the publishers' web-site is www.geramond.de. However, the scale is smaller and U-Bahn lines are omitted. DB, S-Bahn and preserved lines are included. It therefore serves my needs adequately.

S Yorks, usually
we are really fond of "The European Rail Timetable". This does include comprehensive rail maps together with train times for all countries in Europe. We never rail abroad without it.

It is published monthly. www.europeanrailtimetable.eu

Although they are useful maps, the ones in the ERT aren't totally comprehensive. They don't show all branch lines or even all the stations on the lines that they do show.

You can not buy better than S&W.

Also shows closed, disused, , rail bike lifted and bike/walking trail ex railways.
