Following reports of someone in the river opposite Ipswich Railway station, emergency crews (including the RAF's Search & Rescuse SeaKing Helicopter based at RAF Wattisham) were scrabbled to sweep the area.
After about 45 minutes of searching the river bed no one was found. However the aircraft then developed a technical issue forcing it to land in playing fields next to the railway line.
Engineers from Wattisham were dispatched to the aircraft while Coastguard personnel and Police cordoned off the area.
Taken during very low light levels without the aid of a tripod, some photos have inevitably come out slightly blurred.
