There have been some spooky goings on in Darlington and Bishop Auckland with questions being raised as to why people are disappearing from bus stops up to every 15 minutes? Initial reports claimed that something sinister was responsible with both aliens and a possible Big Foot in the frame for the mysterious disappearances.
It turns out there is no need to panic! Its just the X1/1 services are up to every 15 minutes between Darlington and Bishop Auckland!
Arriva North East, launched their new campaign on Friday with a spectacular 3D floor art illusion in the centre of Darlington. The campaign, which is centred around the strange occurrence of people vanishing from bus stops up to every 15 minutes, incorporates a radio campaign and online videos explaining that there is no big mystery its just people are catching buses between Darlington and Bishop Auckland up to every 15 minutes.
The illusion, a giant alien hand grabbing people from the bus stop was in place in the Horsemarket on Friday and Saturday. The illusion uses special techniques which fool the human eye into seeing a 3D image. Viewed from any other angle, the illusion shatters, but pick the right spot and the bizarre scene comes to life. Members of the public were able to get their picture taken and become part of the image.
