As part of the All Change programme, some of the stations between Chillingham Road and North Shields have been getting refurbished. North Shields has now lost its station building, stairways and canopies. Meadow Well station has also lost some of its canopies, with Howdon progessing well with new panels. Chillingham Road has seen probably the biggest improvement so far, and looks to be nearly complete in a similar colourscheme to Haymarket.

Hopefully in the next few days I'll have a chance to get out again with the camera and take a few photos to show you what is happening.

Some of the old ticket machines have been removed, but no sign of the new ones yet. I expect that these will come next month if the barriers are put up as planned, and the new Pop smartcard comes online.

Interesting you should say that because at some stations that already had one of the ticket machines removed, they had the barriers up showing what the new machines will be like but now the missing ticket machines have returned to those stations and the barriers removed, I can only assume they were only there for doing the wiring for when the new ticket machines do finally arrive?
