Quick ticket question

Tomorrow Im travelling from Newcastle-Darlington return, hoping to get the 17.43 out of Newcastle after work. Time will be tight so I plan on buying my tickets before 8am. So my question is can I buy an off peak return before I go to work or must I pay full whack?

As far as I know the ticket office is obliged to sell whatever you ask for, so you shouldn't have any problems.

There may be queues at 8am? (No idea what it's like at Newcastle though) so online and collection may be a better bet? But yes they do have to issue it, but there are many reports of ticket office staff breaking the rules and refusing to issue them, so be prepared to argue your case. NXEC are generally good and sell what you ask for in my experience.

If they refuse then ask for a Middlesbrough - Darlington anytime ticket instead
