The class 460 due to transfer to SWT... I know some coaches will be lengthened to class 458 and others will be class 460 5 car units? What will happen to the luggage cars? Is this definately going to happen?

Is Clapham Junction 'run' by Southern or SWT? Seems all painted in SWT colours but I thought it used to be shared?

When are the new Thameslink trains to enter service- by 2012?

Has work begun on the electrification schemes?

Like pretty much everything related to Thameslink over the past 20 years they're running late! The order hasn't yet been placed yet, and there's a better than evens chance that it won't happen as originally planned.

There will either be a despeccing (conventionalising) of the stock and/or reduction in the amount ordered, or the whole idea of a new concept of stock will be dropped and some slightly revised version of a current stock be ordered instead.

I would hazard a guess that the first train won't enter service until 2013.

A)Who knows? The whole idea of replacing 460s with 442s seems totally idiotic to me...

B)It's managed by SWT to the best of my knowledge.

C)Never. They will definetly change the order IMO. We'll still probably be using 319s in 2012.

D)Not really. They're all being assessed for "value for money".

Southern ideally would be entirely 377s (in varying formations/interiors) and 376s (four cars, instead of 455s) frankly. Including a sub-fleet for Gat-Ex. Pity the money/motivation doesn't exist.

Yes, I realise they have a couple of diesel routes. In the ideal world they wouldn't...
