G'day everyone, I have a few questions regarding internal users on the rail network.

1. Behind Willesden TMD (visible from the Watford DC lines) there is a four wheeled tank wagon which must surely pre-date the 1960's. I'm interested to know what its purpose is and how long it's been there. Given its apparent age I'm surprised that a preserved railway has not shown an interest in it to be included in demonstration freight trains.

2. Are internal users listed on TOPS? Are they assigned numbers by the Rolling tock Library? Back in the 1980's I'm pretty sure that a chap who went by the name of Roger used to compile lists of internal users and I think he contributed to Rail Enthusiast magazine. If I recall correctly he was a Spurs fan. If a listing of internal users is still available I would be very keen to acquire a copy.

Finally, any other information on internal users and where they are located would be very welcome!

Thanks in advance,

Richmond Commuter!

An internal user is a wagon that is not permitted out on the main line but can be used within a depot, factory, private siding etc.

Is that old tank wagon still there west of the ECML just south of Doncaster?

Lol, for a minute, by "tank wagon" I thought you meant something like this: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-q6w_tWT22...ilroad+Brosnan+Rail+Yard+Armored+Vehicles.JPG

There's a couple of bits and bobs at Wimbledon Park which used to be fairly visible but are now hidden by the main shed and the new bogie drop. There is a mark 1 CCT, two low flats and an OBA.
