Questions near London Bridge

Hi,

On signals in the London Bridge area, I noticed on Tuesday that the prefixes are ‘LB’ obviously London Bridge, but I’m sure I remembered previously they were a single ‘L’. Did I misremember?

Also on one of them I noticed a white triangle. What does this mean please?

"L" is the prefix for signals controlled from the 1970s London Bridge signal box. Signals in the London Bridge area are being prefixed "TL" as control is transferred to Three Bridges ROC. I am not aware of any signals at London Bridge being prefixed "LB".

A white triangle ("delta plate") on the ID plate denotes a distant signal, i.e. a signal incapable of displaying a red aspect as part of a normal aspect sequence.

Regarding the ‘LB’ prefix, I was mistaken, sorry. Was probably half asleep as it had been a very long day!

I remember now it was indeed ‘TL’.

Thanks for pointing out it stands for Three Bridges ROC.
