Hi there,

Do southeastern OBM’s and Conductors train together on the same training courses or is it separate?

Thanks

Separate, OBMs training is shorter too I believe, as they have no safety critical duties, at least, they don't dispatch the train etc.

Commercial training, i.e. ticket selling etc. Is the same course, but they have specific trainers for each role, usually ex-conductors/OBMs.

I believe and this is just an observation, the have a batch of conductors training, and then once they're passed out a batch of obms will do their training. So usually a couple of courses a year for each role.

Thanks for your reply,

Btw you wouldn’t happen to know by any chance if Southeastern ever ring on No Caller ID? I assume they don’t, but I had 3 missed calls on no caller ID and can’t work out who it was, I’m scared I’ve missed them.

Hi, I'm currently going through the conductor training. The OBM course finished a couple of weeks ago. I never received any calls from them with no caller id... I applied around 2 years ago and started on 1st July

Not sure, but id doubt it. I pretty much don't answer my phone of it's not a number I recognise or if it's got no caller id. I'm also pretty sure a lot of the communication is done via email.

Yeah that’s what I do, you’d think if it was important that they would leave a message. thanks!
