Question re 16-25 railcard validity

Hello all

As I am now 24 it is quite obvious that I am now in the boundaries of being a true adult and not getting any sort of discount on the railway. However, I want to ask if it is possible, as my existing railcard has just expired - is it possible to buy another 3 year railcard, so in theory after the next one expires, I would be 27, or wouldn't it be allowed?

According to the National Rail Website you can only buy a three-year one up until the day before you turn 24, so I'm afraid that I don't think you can.

The 16-25 Railcard website states:

"...3-year 16-25 Railcards ... may be purchased up until the day before your 24th birthday"

So no, you're too late unfortunately. Unless you're a mature student.

You can still buy a 1 year railcard on the day before your 26th birthday which has the same effect.
