Question - General Filming on LU

Hello All,

I am off to london for a few videos on the Viccy line, but I've soon learnt it seems you need a permit to do such, however it seems if you are there for 15 mins or more then you need one (according to another site), the LU Filming office asks for alot for just filming, requires you to send a script (I don't need one for quick shots!) and covers all sorts of aspects, mainly for stuff that a film maker would need, not a simple handheld camera!


The question is, do I need a permit for filming at stations (under 15 mins) and to put on YouTube, or do I just ask at each station?

Fot less than 15 mins, you shouldn't have any problems. Just as long as you don't use flash or a tripod.

The permit I believe is normally for students doing a product etc.

If your going to stay at a station for longer than 15 mins, before you start ask to speak to a supervisor, just explain your an enthusiast, videos are for personal use, you dont have a tripod, won't use flash, will stay behind the line etc. etc.

Don't think you'll have any problems.

Well on Most occassions for me I usually get chased away within a few minutes (and thats aboveground LU stations) and even when I do ask they usually say NO.

But dont let me put you off, it just most of my experiences.
