Question - 'Different' traffic on the Harrogate Line...

Hi All,

I'm 3/4 of the way through a video I have been shooting on an adhoc basis of rail traffic going through Horsforth station. So far it's been ALL units and the odd 125 and nothing particularly different, although the different times of year have made for some varying weather and light conditions. To try and spice things up a bit, it would be good to get some additional types of trains in the video.

So does anyone know if anything remotely different to the norm is scheduled for the Harrogate line in the next few weeks?

I remember a DRS Class 20 went through last October, that would be good for the video this time along with any freight / charters / maintenance units.

Yes - a daily, class 20 hauled RHTT (Water Cannon) train
is due to start running in mid-October, booked to pass
Horsforth at 05:56 and 07:20 (it reverses at Harrogate)...

Beautiful i live at burley park station i think i shall be going to see that one morning!!!!! Why is it everyday i thought RHTT were weekly cycles?

No they are daily (except Sundays usually). The effect doesn't even last a day really.

Knaresborough, yes - that's what I meant!!

Apart from a handful of exceptions, most RHTTs cover exactly
the same lines daily from early October to late November.

Perhaps you were thinking of the NMT?

I can hear the trains from my room at uni quite clearly. So i canr ecognise the noise of units and the HST.

Last night something went past that sounded like a loco definitely. Anyone know of anything heading that way.

I went down this morning for the 7:20 passing at Horsforth (towards Leeds), I got there early at ten past, and its a good job that I did, as the train came straight away, luckily I saw its headlights on the track coming around the curve so I had time to turn my camera on and film it going through. It was a pair of 20s, the same pair also go through Barnsley later in the day - my Dad filmed them there. Thanks again for the info Freightmaster.
