Question about what off-peak means for a railcard

Looking at fares between Manchester Airport and Blackpool North and seeing that the restriction code says that all trains are off-peak regardless of the time of day.

Does this mean that using a Two Together rail card that can only be used on off-peak trains can be used any time of the day on this route, or does the rail card itself have restrictions that override the route?

Yes. A Two Together Railcard is valid only after 09:30 weekdays (and all day weekends and holidays), regardless of what ticket accompanies it.

Off Peak Returns, from Manchester Airport to/from Blackpool North, can indeed be used at any time of the day, and could be used as early as the 0448 Northern service, direct from Manchester Airport to Blackpool North.

The cheaper Off Peak Day Return can, however, only be used at, or after, 0845 during the week. Handily, there's an 0845 departure which runs from Manchester Airport direct to Blackpool North.

'Two Together Railcard' discount, as already mentioned by @Gaelan, is not valid before 09:30 Monday to Friday, except on bank holidays, so the first midweek departure on which you could normally use it, to buy discounted tickets, on a service direct from Manchester Airport to Blackpool North, would be the 0945.

Indeed; as stated above, the Railcard has it's own T&Cs. These apply in addition to the ticket. This is shown on BRfares.com when you search for a ticket with the discount.

Buying your ticket online, such as from our ticketing site, will ensure that all the relevant rules are adhered to. If you travel in conjunction with the itinerary, your ticket will always be valid. It's only if you want to deviate from the itinerary that you would need to check.
