Question about PIS on class 377 trains

Do the PIS screens and automated announcements have to be reset manually after a change from DC to AC during the journey ?

I cannot answer the question, but as an aside, why is 'Welcome to Class 377' a common default option, given that it means nothing to most people?

True most pax don’t even realise about class numbers, most people have heard of Turbostar, Electrostar ect though.

I think if you said Electrostar to someone, even on an Electrostar, they'd probably be a bit confused.

I’ve never seen ‘Welcome to Class 377’. I have seen ‘Class 377’ on the outside of a few but mostly after an AC/DC switch I’ve just seen ‘Electrostar’.

3776/7s will show ‘welcome to class 377’ whilst 1-5 will show ‘electrostar’. The change from dc/ac or ac/dc results in the displays being temporarily turned off, the route is still in memory and as soon as the display receives a new message it will display it, so no it does not have to be reset unless something goes wrong.
