I was debating whether or not to make this a separate thread rather than just ask it on one of the current ones, but I think this might be a good place for anyone else to make similar enquiries. But anyway, back in January I was among the candidates that didn't make it through to the CBI stage when applying for a trainee train driver role with Avanti West Coast. However recently I have began to wonder whether or not any future applications should use the same details as I did the first time around. Nothing has changed, but when I first applied to this role I created another account using another email since I had forgotten the password to my regular account and Avanti weren't helpful by taking four hours to send me a reset link, and the vacancy was only up for a day. But if in future I apply for another role, either with the same or a different company, will I be able to use my primary email address, or would it be better to use the same one as last time since that's what will be on the OPC's records? I wouldn't want to resit the entire process because I have a valid pass on most of the tests, so I'm just wondering what would be the correct thing to do for future reference so I'm not asking myself the same question if I ever get the chance again. OPC save the scores against your NI number so the email address should have no bearing whatsoever I’d imagine
Yeah as stated it's logged against your NI number. OPC doesn't directly administer the psychometrics for every TOC anyway. In fact I believe they only do so for a minority of them. So in each instance the TOC would access the central records using your NI number. If it was email it would be far too open to abuse.
Thank you both very much for this information! I can now comfortably know that any future applications will be good with a different email. I imagine they might've known that things like this would sort of happen anyway, but you can never be sure.
