Query regarding abandoned coach

I was browsing the 28dayslater website and was looking at a report from 'Norden Train Graveyard' ( http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/forums/showthread.php/91448-Norden-Train-Graveyard-Dorset-July-2014 ) and came across a carriage that didn't look like the others there nor a standard passenger coach that I've ever seen:

Does anyone have any idea about what this coach was used for and who it was built by? I'd guess it was once a southern railway owned coach because of the green but that's my only guess.

That is former Maunsell BCK, Push/Pull coach 6697 which is to be restored as part of the 5-Car Southern Railway Ironclad/Maunsell set no 232. The coach was lasted used as part of the Chipman weed killer train along with it's sister Push/Pull coach 6699.

Coach 6699 is in better condition and is to be restored with Maunsell TO, Push/Pull Open Third 1323 to form authentic push-pull set number 619. It remains to be decided if driver’s controls for full push-pull operation will be installed as there is some doubt whether this mode of operation will be permitted.
