Pretty sure the toilets have cost money in Queen Street for a fair few years? Central is free due to being NR managed and open toilets is their policy.

I think the Toilets were free at Queen St for a short while after the station rebuild was complete. I thought they had barriers to accept rail tickets, free for rail users?

Queen Street toilets cost 50p to use, as it is a ScotRail run station. I'm personally in favour, the toilets in Queen Street are much nicer to use relative to the free ones in Glasgow Central. You don't get to use them free with a rail ticket. 50p charge is for everyone.

It is good to see that they managed to get M&S to set up in one of the retail units. Is there any information on opening date?

The toilets were free when they first opened after the refurbishment but we're almost totally destroyed on 3 separate occasions when events took place in George Square, not to mention persistent anti social behaviour/drug taking. Although the charge is unpopular it has virtually eliminated the issues. Sadly the weekend has seen the new M&S damaged with several windows broken and multiple fights last night where the pots for storing flowers became missiles at both property and staff. The behaviour last night in the station was unbelievable. People have lost the plot.

Wow Glasgow is really bad these days. I much prefer Edinburgh. What a shame as they spent a lot doing up Queen street will soon be as bad as ever.

There was a horrendous incident in Glasgow Queen Street recently. I don’t envy the staff working there and a continuous, visual BTP presence in the evening is probably necessary.

I've long had issues regarding the Equality Act in regard to charging people who are at a higher risk of needing toilet urgently. Pregnant women are an obvious example. But there are other medical conditions that increase this risk - and indeed the risk of an 'accident'. It's the same with toilets in parks. Maybe it just reflects how many people see society and others?

There's a free disabled toilet on the station concourse.

I would imagine as per the other barriers, if someone presented with a visible “need” to enter the facilities immediately, staff would bypass the gate and ask questions later ?

I’d assume Scotrail PR have enough issues without pregnant passengers peeing on the concourse.
