I've just seen a pic whilst flicking through the June 2013 Railways Illustrated of WCRC's 47851 in BR 2-tone green hauling the 'Queen of Scots Pullman' over Lockwood Viaduct on the Penistone Line, approaching Huddersfield, in 2009.

This is an odd train - seems to be made up of a random collection of vintage carriages most of which look like they're wooden bodied to me.

Anyone know anything about this? I thought wooden bodied coaches were banned pre-2011.

The Queen of Scots rake includes the oldest coaches operating on the Mainline. The wooden bodied coaches have grandfather rights to still be used.

What he said. Its a very bizzare rake (seen it once on the East Suffolk of all places) made up of a fairly eclectic mix of mainly pre-Grouping coaches. And yes, grandfather rights keep it going.

Its a charter set mainly aimed at tourists. Look at the frankly awful website which looks like it was written in 1998 and hasn't been touched since...
