Hiya!

Ive been looking and reading for a few weeks now!!

My OH works for LUL and has been offered Voluntary Severance from the ticket office. We have decided that 'we' should go for it. (his decision mostly!)

We won't find out until March whether his application is successful. If it is it's panic stations....

1. Re-decorate and sell house. (Our home is in a flood risk area...however the London market is nuts at the mo...a house on our street sold in 6 hours :o

2. He cannot leave until Feb 2015. But we're looking to sell from May this year onwards.
3. We're looking at Manchester to move as that's where i'm from orginally.
4. I have applied at Northern and was wondering whether anyone else on here has applied for their 'ongoing' vacancies?
5. Thanks to another poster on here,,,,I managed to speak to the famous Laura with whom I had a great chat with.
6. When I applied...it only gave 'Manchester, Wigan and a few others....but wouldn't let me pic' (hahah not) picc and vic....just manchester. Laura did say wigan needed qualies...but its too far for commute. Will, If i am successful be placed at either depot? Or if I had a choice....which is better?
7. I see that Virgin (i used to work for them 12 years ago as a TM) advertised....but a chat on faceache shows they are looking at May/June starts.

Just so ya know.....been on railways for 15 years. Started at Man Picc at the old telephone bureau....that makes me feel old! then I transfered to Waterloo for a few months....left before made redundant. I left the railways (bad mistake) but rejoined 8 months later for GNER in the ticket office.....then TM for Virgin,,,then LUL as a driver.....left because they couldn't offer my depot...(expected and 1.5 hr journey to work no ta) off to chiltern back to ticket office...then WAGN now FCC as driver since 2002 then DI. And Breathe) Nice clean record....

Anyway...thats my life....rather up in the air at mo...

So....my biggy question to the Northern Drivers....which depot and why...please :)
