Hi all,

I recently submitted an application for fcc/bedford. Interview i felt went well and a few days later i received this:

Thank you for attending the selection session for Qualified Train Driver [First Capital Connect] role with First.

On this occasion, the quality of candidates has been high and this position has been filled by another individual. You have however been successful at the interview stage and we would like to keep your application on hold so that we can contact you should the same type of vacancy come up in the future.

Please note that applications are actively retained for a six month period and you will normally only be contacted if a similar vacancy comes up within that period.

If you prefer to withdraw your application, please log into your account and select "Application Submission History." Along the line which identifies this role, please select the icon which represents your withdrawal - shown as a no entry symbol.

If you are interested in any other roles with the company, you will need to make a new application when the vacancy is advertised (as you have already applied once, you will not need to provide all of your information again, but will need to respond to some questions which are specific to the role available). You can also register for a Job Alert which will allow our recruitment solution to let you know when jobs become available.

Congratulations on your successful interview and thank you for taking the time to apply to us.

Yours sincerely

The FirstGroup Resourcing Team

Any thoughts on this? i was under the impression there was a large number of vacancies at Bedford?
Admittedly i did apply close to the closing date, so may be at the back of the queue!!

just a quick question are you passenger or freight driver, fcc just took on a few ex-jarvis guys at bedford and i believe a few ex freight guys, plus there are the trainees just coming through.
