Hi, I am a qualified driver. I have a group exercise and speed interview next week with east Midlands trains, any idea what to expect?

Conrgats on getting to the interview stage!
I went to the open day (unluckily didn't get past the application stage though
) and they said it would comprise of team exercises to get to know you and how you work. They didn't go into to much detail but it will probably be an introduce yourself bit, followed by activities like building bridges out of paper and stuff like that. Come Lunch time they'll keep some of you for the interview and say goodbye to others. The interview will probably just contain the usual sort of questions like "why do you want to work for EMT", "name a time when.......".

Sorry to hear you didn't get through this time . I would say next time really concentrate on the application as I think they want really detailed applications and study your rules for rules test which was the next stage. I found the questions on the rules test quite challenging so I would suggest reading up on the rule book. I luckily passed the rules test somehow.
Did they say what is the next stage after the group exercise and speed interviews?

Yeah I'm trying not to be to disheartened by it as I did really want it after starting my railway career with them on the platform.
as SPADTrap said it will just be formal interviews
Also by the sounds of it they will be taking people on as and when positions become available over the next couple of years, So some may be offered a start date pretty quick and others may have to wait a few more months. which makes me worry that they may not advertise again for a while.
