Anyone have any idea what a formal interview for East Midlands trains entails? I know it's competency based questions. Any have any idea what sort of questions they ask? Cheers
Hi Traindriver299! These are just some of the questions I was asked although it was over 2 years ago now. They should give you a rough idea.
Can you give me an example of when you've had to prioritise?
How did you do it?
Can you tell me what you do when you take over a train?
Why have you chosen this TOC?
What can you tell me about this TOC?
What skills do you possess that you think would be an asset to our team?
What are your strengths/weaknesses?
I hope this helps. Best of luck!

Well done on getting past that video interview!! I found that horrific and didn't get through!....good luck for the next stage mate!
Hi red2005,
Thanks mate!
The video rules test was horrific, but after that I had a group exercise and speed interview at Derby as well that was difficult. I don't know why emt have so many stages many other tocs, simple have a formal interview.
Hopefully I get the job after getting through this far.
You're welcome mate!
Flipping eck that sounds proper intense! I'm sure you've nailed it mate! Fingers are crossed for you! Not all bad news for me though I got a job with virgin straight after.... I thought that was hard but it sounds like your process was even harder still!.... hats off to you buddy!
Red
Thanks again buddy hope it goes well for me.
Well done to you for getting the job at virgin that's hats off to you. Wish you all the best.
I thought virgin are intense but I'm surprised emt are so difficult about things. I thought being a qualified driver is easier to get a job but it's same as when I applied to be a trainee.
