Afternoon,

Does anybody know how many trains are required for each route on the Valley Lines network?

The Bay Line is obviously just one, the City Line I think is four, what about Penarth - Rhymney, Barry - Aberdare/Merthyr and Cardiff to Treherbert?

Isn't PVR a bus industry term? I believe in rail industry parlance the term vehicle actually refers to an individual car/carriage. Are you after the number of units needed, or the number of trains (which may be formed of multiple coupled units)?

Yes PVR isn't a term we in the railway industry would use. I think he wants to know diagrams etc?

The number of trains required are:-
Treherbert - 5
Penarth/Bargoed/Rhymney - 10
Merthyr/Aberdare/Barry Island/Bridgend - 14
Coryton/City Line - 3
Bay - 1

This is the number of TRAINS required. The trains may be a Single 150 or a Pair of Pacers.

Yes, it is, but I wasn't sure what the bus equivalent is called.

Yes, the number of trains in multiple. So say 150208+143605 would just be one, 142077 would be one also, so that's two. Basically, the number of diagrams that are used.

Yes, this sounds about right. Thank you!
