Pushbikes on trains

Hi,
I will be commuting for work to Oxford from either Banbury or Reading (depends which accomodation comes up first)
It says you have to make a reservation.
Say you forget to do so...and youve already bought the ticket.
Can you later make the bike reservation?
And what if you bought a season ticket and then want to add a bike reservation to it?

Also, are there any pushbike facilitaties at or near oxford rail station? Because i would rather stash a bike in a safe place in oxford. I went to oxford rail station site but couldnt
tell if there were bike places there or not.

Yes, a booking office can do that, or they often do it via Twitter.

You can't have looked very hard, there's a sea of bikes stored outside Oxford station! There is a bit of a theft problem, though, so I'd not store an expensive one there.

I had a friend who did just that. He had 2 bikes, one he'd leave at Banbury station, and the second he left outside Oxford station.

Used to be very common for London commuters to do that, though with TfL and Lime hire bikes I think it's a bit less common now.

You can make bike and seat reservations online through the GWR or TPE websites, independently of how you buy yoru ticket. Register/login and go to 'My journeys', then select 'Make a seat/bike reservation' and follow the prompts.

You can take an unreserved bike on either route if you use stopping trains, although there are of course trade-offs. From Banbury the time penalty isn't too bad (about 28 minutes compared to about 17) but the trains aren't very frequent; I'd guess it might work if the train times fit your working hours. From Reading, journey opportunities are more frequent, but you have to change at Didcot and it takes much longer than a through train -- maybe most useful as a fallback option if you'd otherwise be stuck. But that's for you to decide.

Would a folding bike be an option?
