Hi guys, I'm hoping to buy a West Yorkshire MetroDay train ticket for travel tomorrow. I tried last week but failed, so wondered if anyone had any suggestions?
I want to start from my local station (Burley Park), but the station is unmanned. The ticket machine doesn't sell the ticket and it can't be bought online, so I tried to buy it on the train. The guard was very helpful and spent most of the journey to Leeds trying to issue it but couldn't - only the more expensive bus and train ticket was there. He suggested that instead I try buying it at Leeds. When I arrived at Leeds I went to the excess fares window but they were using the same handheld system (avantix replacement) and couldn't issue it either and wouldn't let me through the barriers to the main ticket office who had sold it to me before.
I ended up just going home, so any advice as to how I can actually buy what I need would be appreciated!
