Hi!
Enjoying a nice week off and travelled down to Plymouth on Wednesday - looking forward to enjoying my first dining experience on an IET on my return.
Pleasantly surprised when my 15,29 departure from Reading was preceded by "The Cornishman" - the 15.29 departure...........
A speedy journey down to Plymouth in First with a controlled stop just out of Newton Abbot due to "youths playing with the buttons"
Fast forward to Thursday and I'm off to platform 5 and the 13.15 to Paddington. Walking down the platform about twenty minutes before departure there's no sign of tables being set up but I don't know how long that usually takes.
Board the train and there is an ominous call over the main broadcast -"can the first class host make the at seat announcement - (twice)" It turns out that due to a shortage of chefs there was no Pullman service on the train today!
Having now read a small part of my life story - the question is .....
