The 0945 London Victoria to Bath is stuck at the junction.

If you have any information please tell me as I was going to see it today at Salisbury but if it does not get moving I won't!

I presume they meant Grosvenor Bridge Jcn but it's not stuck there, it's 44 late at Woking.

As RTT is showing "no report" between Grosvenor Bridge Jn and Byfleet & New Haw (losing 20 minutes in the process) could the train have taken an alternative route to that planned? (I don't know the lie of the land around there.)

It's back on track but 50 late. To make up it's time it is going non stop to bath now. Thanks for the help! I will see it on the way back now. Cheers

Open data websites such as Open Train Times, Realtimetrains etc will show "no report" in these circumstances, yes.

And (having looked at some old OS maps) then along the Windsor Line through Staines, rejoining the planned route at Byfleet. (It didn't register a time at Wimbledon, so didn't go that way.)

As it turns out, yes. But if it had indeed been sat just outside Victoria station for over an hour, it wouldn't be quite such hyperbole.

The holding and then rerouting of the train seems to have been due to the signal failure “between Surbiton and Woking”, which must in fact have been somewhere between Surbiton and Byfleet Junction.

Being stuck on a Pullman train is not exactly a vision of Hades, is it?

I suppose the exclamation mark is an attempt at signifying some irony, but some complete leisure trip travellers aren't going to be quite so impatient as a bunch of commuters at lewisham, especially if they can provide some snack and water to everyone.

On the other hand, if the Pullman had been sat in the way outside Victoria for an hour as the OP first thought, there'd be a lot of disruption to the surrounding commuter trains...

I am fairly certain there are worse places to be stuck for an hour than a VIP Pullman train with an onboard drinks carriage!

I think most of the posters on here have it right - those on board won't be bothered too much about the delay - obviously if it was a 2 hour delay at the end of the trip, and they were going to potentially miss connections home, they might be a bit more concerned. Going back 20+ years, myself and family travelled on board the Manchester Pullamn set on a dining charter to celebrate my parents wedding anniversary - on the return, we were delayed in Kirkstall loop because we hadn't finished eating! The train was put in there for around 30 minutes to enable us to finish our meals - and I didn't hear anyone complain about being late...
