Pubs on the Marshlink line

About every six weeks I have a pub lunch with an 88 year old friend. He lives in Eastbourne and I in Ramsgate

We usually go to Rye as it’s sort of half way, the trains arrive and leave at the same time and there is a pub very near the station

He is now struggling with the footbridge at Rye (it’s not my favourite!) and I am looking for alternatives. I can go to Eastbourne - done it before and been in The Spoons there. It’s a bit of a slog though

And he still likes to get out and about. I was wondering if anyone knew of a station between Eastbourne and Ashford International with no footbridge (or a lift) with a (preferably decent) pub within easy walking distance

Three Oaks would be my recommendation. There is a good pub right by the station. Just exit the station and turn right and it is a one minute walk. The station has level access to the platform with a short ramp going up to the road. So there is no footbridge or steps to climb.
