G'day everyone,
In the next two months an old school pal and I are planning a boy's day out which will include a journey between Manchester and Leeds via Stalybridge. The plan is to have a break for lunch whilst travelling across the Pennines and basically I'm looking for recommendations. We are looking for a pub that sells a well kept pint of bitter, sells decent hot food and hopefully a display of railway memorabilia.
Any suggestions? Please note that we will be travelling on a Wednesday.
Kind regards and a happy New Year to you all.

We're travelling on a Wednesday. Also, as you appear to be something of a ticketing guru I've created another thread on getting the best deal for our day out. Perhaps you could help......
