PTOSL, DMOS A, DMOS B, MOSL

I am trying to gain understanding of DMOS A, DMOS B, MOSL & PTOSL, we have been advised to try and gain understanding on how the each varying units differ etc important to note their varying IC etc, could anybody advise some feedback on best way to differentiate them and perhaps what some of their IC do etc? Appreciate it is quite a broad question. Any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks

They aren’t separate units, its the descriptors for the individual vehicles in one unit:

PTOSL: Pantograph Trailer Open Second Lavatory
DMOS: Driving Motor Open Second (one end designated A, the other end B)
MOSL: Motor Open Second Lavatory

No idea about isolating cocks, I’m not a fitter or driver

Yes, has since 1987 when Second was renamed Standard.

Who are the "we" who have been asked to do this?

The only units I know of with 4 cars, three motor coaches, 2nd (Standard) Class only, and a pantograph on the trailer car are Electrostars of classes 357, 375/6, and possibly 387/3, operating on C2C, South Eastern, and Great Northern respectively. All other Electrostars are two-class, don't have pantographs and/or are have more or fewer than four cars.
(South Eastern abolished First Class in 2022, I don't think C2C ever had it. The GN units are ex-C2C, and may have had First Class reinstated, I'm not sure about that.
No, I don't know why any South Eastern units other than the Javelins have an AC capability)
