I REALLY want to see this, probs at Stafford, I know it's a week away but anyone got word on timings? I haven't seen a class 50, switched on let alone in motion, at all. Seriously. So this is a must for me.

I have been led to believe that it is still going to be two class 50s but wil wait and see on Saturday

The 50's should have worked light engine Canton - Canton on test in the early hours of this morning, but it never materialised.

Will 50049 be ready - its looking more and more doubtful!

455 is the timing load, copying and pasting the whole lot from trust rarely formats well. Although it looks a pretty slow run for most the trip.

Not a technician, but I gather big locos that have had major repairs and have been switched off for some time are ideally meant to have a "running in" test run, and that if is something is discovered that needs tweaking during this run then it is rectified back at the depot before been released to traffic.

The locos are running light over to Wembley tomorrow, which I suppose is a running in move, however if it is discovered something is wrong on that move, is it not a farce waiting to happen because the locos won't be able to go back to Canton?

Hood isn't passed for main line running now - the loco has no OTMR which is now mandatory.
