Well as with regards to good/pass, I got 3 good passes and two passes so they are marked as good or pass with the old tests, but as for the old style tests and being guaranteed a job I can definitely tell you that is not the case, I passed everything 5000 people applied when I applied I got down to the dm interview and just found out I have been put on hold? It 7 months for the processes and guess what now the passes' don't count so I am personally relived that the new tets some feel are easier but I found the old ones easy as well

The main thing for me is that old or new I personally find the fact that TOCS are making people take the new tets is wrong I passed mine a month before they changed so everyone from before October 2013 who is either on a course or driving a train took the same ones as me and are deemed competent enough for that job having passed the required standard but what they are saying now is that I am not, even though I have the same standard as those currently employed but apparently now the new ones are the only true way of determining the competency of potential drivers so everyone driving at the moment is potentially unsuitable for the job because the old tests where not up to the standard find it a bit strange they where ok for me to get a job in September but in October I'm suddenly not deemed competent enough under the old style why not just carry the pass over

Why do you need private? Paying for this with some companies is a huge bill without the guarantee of a job at the end! Go with a TOC and it is free with no guarantee at the end. What is the difference?

And who said I was worried? just after a 7 month long processes I would prefer not to have to go through it all again when I have a pass

And as for punctuation on a rail forum then obviously not, but seen as I have a dm interview lined up after only my 2 nd app in for the role plus 2 I haven't heard back from yet then I would say there is nothing wrong with my punctuation

I work for a toc it's for a mate and he wants to do it ASAP so if anyone knows anything about private please could you give some info.

It worked for me (see my earlier post in this thread) so I'm going to say yes to private pshycho tests but to others it may have not worked out and would have been a monstrous waste of time and money.
So it "might" work but is no guarantee. It depends on the Interviewer.

To ste, apologies if this comes across as rude but I am going to say it as it is. These threads contain differing opinions from people but in the main everyone tries to help one another. You have asked for advice as to taking the PSYCHOMETRIC tests privately. I have posted on this thread TWICE that if this is the route that you or a friend wants to take then look up on line or in a phone book a company called RAIL OPERATIONS GROUP. the answers you seek will be found by contacting this company. You are still posting on here, WHO DOES IT? HOW MUCH? WHERE? ect ect ect. Apart from ringing them up for you there is very little I or anyone else on here can do for you! The pros and cons others have given their opinion on, I have just given you the information you seek, frustration over.:-?

I think it would be hilarious if one member called a second member a smart arse or something equally derogative and the second member turned out to be the future boss of the first member.

Before Ste advises to use the ROG I think a quick search on this forum may assist him on his decision on using them. DB Shenker used to do private testing I do not know if they still do.

I kept asking the question coz people was telling me to take it with a toc but my post said private sorry if that was too much to understand please forgive me on that. And thanks I will try db shenker.
