Going to make a big difference and it looks like this has jumped ahead of the planning ideas as originally they said around 2025 for this to be done. Looks like they aren't going to wait. Guessing the timing is major works hit around time Crossrail is opening to help divert some passengers.

That's much closer to Monument than Bank. Are they finally going to admit that it's all one station and call it Bank and Monument as it should have been since nationalization?
Operationally it is considered as the Bank/Monument complex on the Central line, but it will remain as Monument on the Circle and District lines and Bank for Northern, Central, Waterloo/City lines and the DLR.
I think it helps having the two names as it is rather a long connection if you go between one and the other.

IIRC it's not as long as the interchange at Charing Cross (which, yes, did use to be two stations).
And look at Hammersmith! :P At least with Edgware Road the tube map admits they're separate.
Yes, I'd prefer Hammersmith to have two names given you have to cross at least one road to get between them.
