Proof of address

Can someone tell me what proof of address is considered acceptable before signing a contract as a trainee driver?

Just want to know in advance: would a bank statement be good?

Usually a utility bill / council tax statement, within the last 3 months. I believe a bank statement is also acceptable.

I can hand on heart say I was never asked for proof of address in my role with my current employer. But an upto date utility bill (not mobile phone ) or council tax bill is the best bet.

However with my previous rail employer it was virtually impossible to pass the third party security checks. They were useless.
