On Monday 7 August 2017 at 8 pm on BBC 4, the programme where Tornado achieves 100mph will be shown nationwide. (Some of you may remember when I tipped you off about this programme being on East Midlands only earlier this year).

At 8.30pm on the same evening, ‘The Return of Flying Scotsman’ is being shown on BBC 4.

When it comes to TV Programmes about locos, why are the media always obsessed with steam?

Because steam rail has a much bigger potential audience than other rail operations which generally only really interests train spotters, - a relative minority interest.

Quite enjoyable and informative in the end - the narrator treated the audience as adults and there were no tired old "trainspotter" or "anorak" cliches. :)
