Problems whilst Photting buses?

I recall from my days at uni that some Stagecoach Manchester buses heading back to Hyde Road depot displayed 'Royston Vasey' as their destination

Had a freindly wave today when working on deliveries in the Vale of Glamorgan when I took a photograph of a mercedes-Benz Vario working on the local villiage bus services nr Cowbridge.

The network of bus services service some very rural villiages roughly every 2 hours although some are served at request only and there are a few very narrow spots on the network which even a minibus can have problems

Before anyone ask's I was parked up at the side of the road having my lunch break when I spotted the bus coming down in the distance so got out of my van with the camera

I take pics of buses myself, although apart from official events tend to use my Phone to take pics. All were interested in is the bus itself & not anyone on board, most companies recognise this & actually want pictures of there buses taken.

A lot do actually and I have seen a few arguments between fare paying passengers and oap's

Hmmm. There is one operator in the Bath / Wells area (well, Paulton to be axact) who have some vehicles I have seen with funny destinations in the past. The funny ones have usually been on the Optare Solos in the operator's fleet. Among the ones I have seen are:

- "Arriva in Bath" (complete with Arriva logo)
- "When I grow up I want to be a Spectra"
- "Millitant pensioners on board. Sorry - no room for paying passengers"
- "Sod it - I've had enough!" -

and a revolving one which ran: "Please do not sell the driver any more vintage bus timetables" which then changed to "He already has a house full of them and if he buys any more Ann will kill him."

A pity more operators won't show a bit of humour sometimes.

Which operator is this? I'm not aware of any bus operators in Paulton, and only one coach operator (I forget who though)...

Sorry I was slightly out. Their website says they are at Paulton but the depot is actually just off the A368 between Stanton Wick and the A37. The yard can be found by typing "Stanton Wick, UK" into Google Earth: just slightly SE of the village on the A368 is a large yard and that is their depot.

The operator is "Somerbus", known otherwise as "Somerbus of Paulton".

Oh. I should have guessed it would be Somerbus. I know they have Solos; I've been on one...

Drivers in nottingham seem quite friendly and often on Flickr you'll see pictures of drivers waving etc

Agreed, I have many photos of buses around Nottingham and, the only hand gestures in them were friendly waves. The tram drivers are great as well I have a photo somewhere of a tram stationary at the Old Market Square stop, where the driver is giving me a double thumbs up.

The only one worthy of note really is when I was at the Clifton Terminus and a lady driver stated that she always looks awful in pictures and jumped from the cab and out of shot and told me that I was more than welcome to photograph the bus.

Lincoln is good too, lots of waves and smiles and thumbs up.

Never had a V sign or any other offensive gesture, maybe I'm just lucky.
