They are advanced purchase tickets for travel on 15/07/19. Ample time to cancel, replace or whatever. I will be asking the conductor to check my original seats if someone is sat there
Given that an unclaimed reserved seat is fair game for anyone, this would seem very unlikely to meet with success.
Of course the guard could do this in a non-accusatory manner if they knew what the ToD CTR of the stolen tickets was (i.e. just check tickets as normal but scrutinise that specific aspect then go off and quietly call the BTP), but they'll probably just decline to do so. In any case it's more likely that the thief would sell the tickets than use them, so while you'd be catching someone out for using a resold ticket which is therefore not valid (and potentially handling stolen goods, though in good faith so a conviction would be unlikely) you wouldn't be catching the thief.
