yesterday evening was such chaos on the ECML.
Delays of 3 hours +
Does anyone know what time the 20.08 from Peterborough to Kings cross got in on the Sunday just gone?
They were organising taxis last time I checked.

I think you mean the 2009 to Kings Cross. This service was delayed by 224 minutes by the time it left Peterborough. It lost a further 6 minutes and arrived at Kings Cross 230 minutes late at 0046.

The delays were due to a reported complete loss of signal operations at Peterborough and a further "operating incident" between Grantham and Peterborough.

Seems consistent with what I saw, a HST standing on the southbound at Newark crossing.

I was travelling northbound on the 1947 Hull Trains from Kings Cross. We came to a stop in the through road at Peterborough, where we were held for approximately 15 minutes. We then crossed over to what I believe was one of the up lines, before crossing back to the down Stamford. Most of this was crawling. We then proceeded at a very slow speed on the down slow, before crossing back to the fast lines at Tallington. All of this resulted in a delay of around 40 minutes.

Southbound trains seemed to be much worse affected. I noticed that several trains were heavily delayed before even reaching Grantham - were services simply being stacked up before the affected area?

Tweets from last night with people complaining about large queues for taxis, and that was quicker to flag a black cab around the corner.

Things do not look to great again this evening

Journeys between London Kings Cross and Peterborough / Cambridge may be delayed by up to 3 hours. More details are available from the Latest travel news
