Hopefully this is the correct thread for this:

I bought 2 Advance return tickets from Peterborough to Manchester Victoria (via Leeds) from the Rail UK website dated 22/01/2026

We are travelling tomorrow.

I have collected the tickets, and the accompanying voucher says there are 8 coupons in total - I have collected all 8 coupons.

I have:
2 tickets Peterborough to Manchester stations
2 reservations Peterborough to Leeds
2 reservations Leeds to Manchester Victoria

2 tickets Manchester stations to Peterborough

There are no reservation coupons for the return trip from Manchester Victoria to Leeds, and from Leeds to Peterborough.
There should have been 12 coupons not eight.

I have the printed itinery and train times for the whole journey but not all the actual reservation coupons.

Will the train managers accept this tomorrow and why were all the coupons not issued?

I am sure someone from the site will be along shortly. However the good news here is that you have all the "tickets" So you should present the tickets and the print off showing the itinerary for the return journey.

The machine claims to have printed the reservation coupons in question, which were definitely written into LSM (the Ticket on Departure centralised system) when the forum ticketing site made the sale, e.g. for the TPE train see below:

Seat in Coach B, 7[XXXX] marked as printed

I really don't see how this can be anything but a Scheidt & Bachmann fault. Perhaps they did get printed and ended up stuck inside the machine somewhere, who knows.

Two options now:

  • You can cut up the tickets, take photos of them cut up, and then ask Raileasy to issue you a replacement Ticket on Departure code and then chance it with the next machine you come across, and hope it works properly
  • Or, given that the journey was E-Ticketable in the first place, cut up the tickets and ask Raileasy for it to be re-issued as an E-Ticket booking. I am admittedly slightly biased, as I wrote the E-Ticket generation code, but I would say the chances of the reservation being "printed" properly are significantly higher if you just avoid ToD altogether. ToD is simply not as reliable a fulfilment method.

Curiosity, do the tickets for the return journey specify any coupon numbers for the reservations? I can’t remember the exact wording but you’ll likely notice a difference between the outward and return.

Thank you for all your help - I do have the correct tickets. I confused myself

The collection receipt says 8 coupons but refers to 12 ticket nos - 89508-89519

The 2 actual tickets are numbered 89508 and 89514 (outward) and 89511 and 89517 (return)

The reservation coupons each have 2 ticket nos printed on them - 89509-89510, 89512-89513, 89515-89516, 89518-89519.

I assumed that 12 ticket numbers meant there should be 12 tickets.

There are actually 2 reservations on each coupon, and each reservation for each leg of the journey has it's own ticket number.

I have never seen this before.

I’m glad it’s looking positive!

If you’d like further reassurance, I’m sure that RailEasy would be happy to take a look at a photo of the tickets to confirm. Just reach out to them.
