Problem Importing Tickets To LNER App

Hello

I bought a Peterborough (PBO) - Newton-le-Willows (NLW) off peak return ticket on Railforums recently, taking advantage of the ability to extend the length of time allowed for connecting in York. As required, I reserved seats on all journey legs.

I thought I could then import it to the LNER app (a perk is a perk, after all) Whichever path I opt for it recognises the route, but insists I’m travelling early in the morning (booking is for midday) and returning on the same day as the outbound.

Has anybody else seen this behaviour, and in the end does it matter if I just import it for the perk value, as I retain the original e-ticket?

Thanks in advance

Yes, I get similar behaviour regularly. Travelling south from Aberdeen on LNER to various destinations, its often significantly cheaper to "step back" a train at Edinburgh - in other words, get off the Aberdeen to Kings Cross train, wait 30 mins at Waverley (no problem to me) then continue on the next EDB to KGX service. I buy tickets through the forum site but when I import them to the LNER app it fails to recognise the change of trains and assumes I am staying on the ex-Aberdeen service all the way to destination. Perks credit adds correctly - just use Trainsplit App or Wallet for ticket scans etc.

We've reported problems with the LNER's app and its understanding of external tickets in the context of Perks before.

I don't think fixing this is much of a priority, they'd rather you booked directly.

if they had an option to extend connection times, I would happy to book direct :)

Thanks all for the advice. Much appreciate.
