The BRfares.com web-site does not list a CDR option for travel, using a Priv. Card, from Rye to Stratford International but does list one for Rye to St Pancras via HS1. Is there likely to be any problem using this ticket at Stratford Int given that the absence of the required fare appears to be an oversight or can the unlisted ticket actually be purchased?

Comments please.

Well the difference in adult fare in terms of the CDR (Off-Peak Day Return) is only 10p so with a Priv discount there is either no difference or a 5p difference.

You can certainly break your journey at Stratford International on a Plus High Speed ticket to London Terminals, but I think it is just an error with the Stratford International fare. It should hopefully be available from the station, but if not (eg. if the error is in the raw datafeed itself), it is no great loss.

Thank you. My wife can now spend her money on my Christmas present and not on the anomalous fare!

There is possibly a bug in BR Fares there regarding discounted fares to Stratford International. It is in the way it interprets non-standard discount records. I've been meaning to look at it for a while - will update this thread when there is news.

What actually happened on Saturday was quite interesting.

Firstly I should explain that my wife began her journey using a normal rate season ticket valid as far as Rye. As our local ticket office was closed she bought her Priv. rate return ticket from the train guard. He was a little perplexed as the only Stratford ticket he could find wasn't valid via HS1 and so issued her with a Priv Return to London Terminals (via HS1) at a price of £9.25. Then a little later he returned and said that he'd been worried as to whether there would be problems at Stratford Int. with that ticket, but had found a Priv Return to Stratford Int., exchanged the tickets and refunded her 5p, as the new ticket was priced at £9.20.

So not just the 'missing ticket' issued, but a really good example of caring customer service from the guard.
