A family member told me today that when she was on Preston station last night, the 1854 or 1954 (?) Euston service was shown as being three hours late.

Can someone tell me whether there were actual problems and real delays, or whether this was an electronic information board error?

Cheers

A 325 failed between Lancaster and Preston so this may have been the cause. There were also OLE problems in the same area.

There were problems with a roof panel on a Class 325, which caused the OLE to trip, the panel had to be removed prior to moving the train - hence the delays to trains on the Up. Down trains generally delayed due to Scottish train crews delayed on southbound services

Just saw this and thought Id offer my experience.
I was scheduled on the 1958 Preston - Euston service and on arriving into Preston saw this "delay" (which at almost 3 hours certainly made me double take); and went to the information desk to see what they could offer me information wise.
However, I was informed that the train I wanted (1958) was sitting on platform 5 waiting to leave and would be on time - the time displayed on the board at Preston was both the Departure time and by the looks of it the Arrival at Euston time.
Notably on-board there were seat reservations for a few people but my ones were not included, however we did leave on time.
Is this service now timetabled to start from Preston only, or was it a change of service?

Kev.

I presume the 19:05 to Euston (16:40 Glasgow) must have been caught up in this. The 20:58 Preston-Euston (18:40 Glasgow) was an hour late.

The 19:58 always starts from Preston with the 16:33 Euston-Preston forming this service. This along with the 20:58 is often the cheapest AP service to Euston.
