G'day,

I will be 45 in a few weeks time and my family are asking for pressie ideas. Given my recently rekindled interest in railways after a lapse of many years can any of you think of interesting books covering the following areas:-

1. East Midlands (where i grew up)
2. London and the SE (where i now live)
3. Anything covering the late 70's and early 80's when i was a keen spotter!

Thanks in advance,

Richmond Commuter!

Joe Baker's London Railway Atlas is superb. It maps every single line (sidings, stations, sheds etc) in London including the Underground, and all the changes to them since they were opened.

Thanks for the suggestion! My wife bought me this for my last birthday and it is a wonderful book! The effort gone into producing it is mind blowing!

Let me know if you think of anything else!
