It's a shame the SWR Saturday services to Corfe Castle in summer 2018 and 2019 were so badly affected by the strikes.

Yes it was a real shame because when they ran they were well patronised but there again high season services sold at a bargain price.

My concern over a Wareham - Swanage service is that it would be well patronised first down last up* in the high season but carry few passengers low season or middle of the day.

* On the 2017 trial service the vast majority of pax used the 11:15 ex wareham and the 16:23 ex Swanage. All other services were very lightly loaded. Swanage is very much a day trip destination these days. Very few overnighters in Swanage now which is part of the reason why patronage for the evening dmu declined to the point the service was withdrawn.
