He Got Me The Night Mail Train Set from Hornby and then with the Money he got me i got a Bachmann Class 20

Yesterday I went to Kernow Model Centre and spent £300, main purchase being a Dapol Class 22 in BR Blue, couldn't resist it

My little one got his starter set for Christmas (Bachmann class 25 + mkII carrgiages [x2] + circuit. As well as a Hornby class 08 in EWS livery (which I think my dad only got him because it's Motherwell colours. LOL).

It's been on his bedroom floor since Christmas Day, and shows no signs of being put away just yet.

We still need to get my HST and class 47 chipped though. But they're both old Lima's so it's not a case of buying the chip.

We also need to get a load of new fishplates and do some serious TLC work on my old track to get it to work.

We've got a small house, and the loft isn't suitable for a train set presently, so we'll be sticking to a 6x4 layout. Based on the trakmat, but with a few alterations.

My other half refuses to buy me any model trains as presents because she doesn't want to buy the wrong thing, lol. But she did get me a couple of the East Midlands Trains MK3's as she was with me when I was going to buy them anyway.

She has insisted I have a church on my layout and got me the Metcalfe church kit and a huge box of scenery to make the church scene, including grass, stone wall, gravestones, people (including a grim reaper) etc.

So I have treated myself to a few bits with my Christmas bonus from work, including East Midlands HST, Hornby EWS 08, Dapol track cleaner, various building and scenery, a mountain of ballast and glue, DCC decoders, the list goes on. Plenty to keep me busy over the winter.

Layout is shaping up well, long long road of scenery to crack on with now.....
