Hi,

According to NRE https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/service_disruptions/today.aspx

TfW services are currently suffering disruption due to power supply issues.

A power failure is causing disruption to Transport for Wales services. Trains may be delayed or cancelled. Disruption is expected to continue until the end of the day.

Trains on the following routes are being affected:

  • Between Bidston and Wrexham General
  • Between Cardiff Central and Cheltenham Spa
  • Between Cardiff Central and Shrewsbury
  • Between Shrewsbury and Chester

Very ambiguous fault description by NRE as the whole Tfw network is diesel powered!

Unless of course they are talking about power to signalling ect?

Signalling, yes. There was a major fault on the National Grid high voltage distribution network that took out fairly large swathes of the UK for a short period (about 10 minutes).
