Substation Fire Causes Power Failure

From the BBC NEWS WEBSITE

BBC said:
Substation fire in Selly Oak causes power cut

About 20,000 homes have suffered a power cut after a fire at a Birmingham substation.

Western Power Distribution said the fire broke out at a primary substation near Battery Park, in Selly Oak.

The power cut has closed Bristol Road between Bournbrook Road and Harborne Lane, where traffic and street lights are affected, police said.

Homes in Edgbaston, Selly Oak and Harborne were among those affected by the outage.

London Midland said trains were suspended between Birmingham New Street and Longbridge because of a "major lineside fire" at Selly Oak.

Cross City line is suspended South of BHM due to it and i assume Cross Country are diverting via Kidderminster.

It would have depended on paths, if the signaling was working and if the crews knew the Camp Hill route to if they were sent Stourbridge or Camp Hill
