Hi Gang,

Posting this thread here because I can't start a new thread in the POTW section. If a mod fancies moving it, please do.

I was thinking about the POTW competition and wondering what people thought of a little alteration to the rules. What I was thinking was that the winner of the competition one week sits out the following week's round. I don't want to be accused of bias against people like Craig who wins on a regular basis, but it might be nice if the honours could be shared around a bit more.

What do folk think?

O L Leigh

i see what you mean, it makes sence, because the winner chosses the next theme he/she might have a very good photo of that theme, if that is clear, and have an advantage before the rest of the entrants

I'm not sure that being excluded from entering the following week's competition is a particularly good prize, or an incetive to enter the competition!

I thought we had a rule that if someone won the competition consecutively twice, then the runner up got to choose the subject for the following week (which would prevent the situation mentioned by Westcoaster)? However, I cannot find this documented in the rules at all. Has it been removed or did I dream this? Perhaps Jordy can comment when he gets back?

I remember that rule too and, IMO, that would be sufficient. Then again, I've never entered the competition...

It's not really biased though, as people don't (apart from me and my magical photo identifying skills) who's pictures they are. If Craig takes the best picture three weeks in a row or whatever, then good for him!

I see what you mean, but it's like saying that people with good photos should sit out. Not really fair.
