Very much the same here south of Mansfield in Nottinghamshire. The roads were terrible earlier, but I notice the buses have just started to run again now on my local route. There were no buses earlier for people going into Mansfield or Nottingham for work.
That wasn't a snowman. It was a passenger who went for the 0604, and ended up waiting there until the 0906 which was the first train of the day to run.
I think it's going to cause more problems; meltwater vs tonights sub-zero temperatures is going to make travelling around tomorrow morning hazardous.
Clear blue sky and sunny here too. Most of the snow has melted on the roads but not the pavements where I live as it’s only a country lane and not used very much. I’ve just looked at the BBC weather app and it’s forecasting it going down as low as -12 tonight here in Central Nottinghamshire. Now that is low even for the middle of winter and certainly not expected in March.
I wouldn't call November a snowy month either or a month where ice days are likely. November in SE England at least is usually quite a mild and damp month. The type of snow that normally falls in March is a brief shower that settles for five minutes before melting, not a foot and blizzards across high level routes with people stranded in their cars for hours (although you can question why people ignored the warnings which were well publicised in advance). In a normal year I expect the worst winter weather to occur during the meteorological winter.
