Seems 5Z02 a 444, derailed early hours of the morning and everything out the depot is cancelled according to real train times.Screenshot_20260814_045010_Chrome.jpgScreenshot_20260814_045511_Chrome.jpg
Above photos show the affected train by headcode and some of the subsequent cancellations on realtraintimes.

Unlikely to be anything in or out of the yard until mid morning so expect disruption.

Unsure if related, but there’s already a lot of cancellations showing on the boards in Southern and Thameslink land. 1C05 running fast from Horsham to Clapham Junction and London Victoria only.

More likely related to yesterday’s rather more severe incident, surely?!

That and that the overhead wires between Luton and Bedford have melted and it collapsed

Fewer in offices being a Friday, but will disrupt leisure later today.

Will this affect long distance more than suburban? I'm not sure how that depot works.
Only a few long distance trains were affected in the morning like the 06:35 West country train and the 07:03 Poole service aswell as several suburban trains.

Don't "****" indicate a SPAD?
“****” indicates a train not described, occurring when a train passes a signal with a route set, or an automatic signal, without a train description interposed. It can also be caused by track circuit failures or similar.

Well done to the crews for getting this one sorted relatively quickly.

The fact that this happened on a Friday is little comfort to those involved, but fundamentally the railway is less busy on a Friday so this was probably the least terrible weekday to have an incident.
